Is it true most stores aren't getting any more of these consoles until next year? Has any one heard any different?

The shite Nintendo has pulled with Amiibos and the NES Classic has made me loose interest in the Switch

Why anyone would want a NES Classic over a Rapsberry Pi is beyond me...

I spoke with a Nintendo rep about 2 weeks ago, she said they are making more and will have more for Christmas (apparently they didn't expect the demand... pure Nintendo). It's just a rep but this lady has been working for Nintendo in Houston for almost 20 years, eventually these things will be on the shelves so you're a sucker if you pay markup.

What kind of presence does Nintendo have in Houston of all places?

Seeing as it's the 4th largest city in America probably a pretty significant presence, or at least I would hope so.

Rapsberry Pi

Friend made me a raspberry pi 3 full of NES and SNES games. Quite enjoyable.

Waiting for one of these bad boys

Read an article and they said Nintendo is so blown away by the response that they already are in talks for the mini SNES and mini 64.

Mario Kart and 007 come on down!!!

I think a lot of people would be disappointed in a mini 64. 64 did not hold up well IMO outside of the obvious titles.

Walmart got some in today. Most only got 10% of their order so anywhere from 10-20 each location. Well at least in NWLA.

Probably because most people don't want to learn about installing Linux distributions, downloading ROMs from shady sites, using telnet and / or FTP software to log into their Raspberry Pi to load the roms and make configuration changes the EmulationStation UI (or your frontend of choice) doesn't allow by default, etc.

I've setup several Raspberry Pi's for friends over the past couple of years and, while it's not hard, it can be time consuming and beyond what the average person will go through to play a few minutes of Tecmo Bowl, especially if you want the end result to resemble a professional product.

The market for Nintendo's NES Classic makes sense. Their inability to even remotely keep up with demand does not.

I hope they make this system able to be updated and add games as they are released or pick and choose from an online store of some sort. Why not just make the whole NES library available for download on there? Charge like $2.99 to $9.99 per game? Seems like a cash cow.
