Well, I only got to level 13. Since I only played each mission and stronghold 1 time.

Flying felt really clumsy. Mainly when trying to take off vertically as the camera didn't seem to allow you to direct yourself too well.

I felt like it was sometimes hard to even tell where you were being damaged from. And it was always a big spike where I had to run and hide after one or two hits. This could be because I was under leveled.

The gun play didn't feel very smooth. As somebody who played a ton of destiny, the bar is pretty high there.

If the loading crash wasn't a thing I would have given it more time but I didn't feel like wasting what time I had to play so I switched to RE2.

People who privately playtested the "closer to final" build last week said the demo was not nearly as smooth and not to worry. They tested on consoles.

Also addressed. Bioware says the optimization of the final build helps this. Dev on reddit, I don't have a link.

Definitely a problem. HUD needs work with a minimap. Playtesters said the one they used wasn't as bad, but still needed some work.

That's a gear issue. I had the same thing until I got one gear piece that added a bunch of armor and health, then I was able to take a few more hits without dropping into the red immediately.

I have hope the final build has a lot of optimization for frame rates and smoothness of controls as reported.

I hope you are right. I need Anthem or the Division to hit. I need a new co-op game.

Me too. Destiny did it then fricked us,I never got D2. The division did the same.

I still have faith in Bioware after Andromeda. That game's combat was awesome, and using their ability to make fun gunplay with space wizards appears to have translated pretty good here. The framework is there for an amazing game if they can pull it off.

EA said 41% of people that played the demo played with Storm. I had 2 guys in my squad that played with Storm and they essentially just hovered above the action and wrecked shite from up top. Wouldn’t be surprised if they nerfed it

Disappointing IMO. I played Colossus. Fat Boy is fun to play. I liked ranger too, despite everyone saying it was "under powered", which it is not. Ranger is the king of single target burst damage from range and relies on his guns more than other classes. Sustained ranged damage with the best burst to handle your "elite" enemies with ease. Ice grenade, shoot until shield gone, pulse blast, boom. Dead. Best boss damage as well.

Storm is just an AOE monster, lacking on single target damage. Colossus is AOE as well but up close. Interceptor is the specialized class that has lots of utility for helping a team and dealing burst damage and spreading status effects onto other enemies when hitting a combo.

They won't nerf anything yet until people get into end game and there is an obvious build that is better than anything else the game can offer. We have yet to even scratch the surface of what high end gear can do to skills and builds. No need to nerf yet. Maybe the storm is just easier at earlier levels but fades a bit into equality with other javelins in late game stuff that adds more mechanics and difficulty.

Lol. Andromeda was fun when you got into combat. The story was pretty bad and the graphics were obviously wonky, but the game was pretty damn awesome with builds and combat. The multiplayer was amazing aside from the loot box bullshite.

I am not sure if that is an OP thing or just the draw of the character type. In MMOs the glass cannons/DPS always tend to be the more popular. Tanks played the least.

I did pick storm as soon as I could.

Was the ice attack I was using not single target DPS? It melted shields.

Not that it can't do single target damage, but the ranger does extra critical damage when he pops a combo. He is the single target king because of this.

The Storm combo spreads the elemental effect to nearby enemies. Debuffs everywhere around your target. Can't get to the gaudy ranger single target numbers. It doesn't matter much now but in end game, I imagine the enemies will have so much damage you'll want the ranger hitting the combos on elites and bosses more than anyone else for bonus damage. The Storm combo will trigger more priming and effects on groups for the colossus to combo off of, and the interceptor will be attacking elites for debuff combos while running around basically poisoning everything.

Colossus Combo is an AOE explosion for damage in an area. AOE damage king for that reason.

Interceptor combo makes you have elemental effects in an aura around you in overtime. Debuffs in a smaller area but for longer.

FYI. The VIP demo is a build based on a branch of code from almost 2 months ago. Alot of optimizations, fixes, UI updates that are in the gold code is not in the demo.

I think EA/Bioware made a big mistake by doing this as first impressions mean alot. While they have publicly acknowledged the differences now, they should have done a better job at setting expectations.

Here are some things about the differences. The youtube video has game play from an event last week that is different the VIP demo.

Other than the initial connection issue and the occasional infinite loading screen, I didn't have any major issues with the game. Except for swimming, whoever coded/tested that and thought that was acceptable should be sent to hell.

After reading the above, I'm feeling even better about Anthem.

Yep. People getting their panties in a wad are funny. Yes there will be micro transactions too. None of them will allow you to have an ingame advantage. all cosmetic, which who gives a frick? I don't care if my toon looks like a dirty diaper in a wal mart parking lot as long as I'm effective.

The game will be better optimized on 2/22 than you will play this weekend.

Bioware has exactly 1 obvious "miss" in their history with Andromeda and if it was not a Mass Effect game, would have been received much, much better. Dragon Age 2 was kind of a miss, but still a great game.

I have faith in Bioware.
