have it -
You go to the airport and select 'go to work', and it flies you to the vacation archipelago. You go inside and change into your work clothes and they give you a task to go find a villager and sell them a vacation property.
They will sit with you and tell you their dreams - like 'I want all green furniture' or 'I want a relaxing reading spot'. They will think of three perfect furniture items they want you to use.
You will select an island from the list for them, and you have full design control. You can add furniture from a pre-determined list to the interior and exterior, you get to position it, customize it, you can change where the house is located on the land and the shape/color/style of house. You can put down paths, trees, fencing. They'll start you with the three items the villager requested, the rest are in the design menus. Some of the design items are things you do not have in your own catalog.
When you're done you take a picture of it and show the villager, and when you get back to the home office, they pay you in Poki (not Bells), which you can spend to buy furniture (random selection) to take home with you.
The villagers are kind of random on your beach but you can bring home presents to give your island's villagers to invite them to the DLC island to build a home there, and I guess when you're done you may be able to redecorate their home on your island. You never run out of islands or homes, I think the upper limit is the actual number of existing villagers in animal crossing.
Sounds like fun. I will get to it after I do some more things in 2.0

Anyone know if the glow moss replicates like weeds do?
I don't know if it replicates but I know there is a big supply of it on the DLC (which I haven't bought yet). I saw a video of the items you can make with the glowing weeds. I want most of them! very cool stuff

Has anyone had any luck getting the new amiibo cards? I'm looking for some place that has them in store in the Baton Rouge area or anywhere online.

Target has always been the first place I've seen the cards pop up.

You don't actually have to craft for the DLC and you can't harvest things from it (that I've seen) - the furniture is pre-made and the island plots start out 'cleared', and all trees etc. are items like furniture you can drop and position.
I'm averaging 12-ish moss a Kapp'n island when I get that one with the plumeria and the vines. There are also a lot of recipes for the vines.

I had to go to Target today for other things and checked out the electronics dept. They had empty card racks for Series 1-4 but nothing for Series 5. No one was working in that department so there was no one to ask. I am not in a rush but do want to get Audie. She was one of our starters and her "real" house looks much better than the one she has now. I would like to get some others just to invite them to The Roost.

We have the bootleg version of most of the Amiibos and I only recently discovered that your starter islanders don't get their proper homes/decor, as a result, but you can invite them back via campsite and they'll have their real house

We have some bootleg versions too but Audie didn't have an amiibo at all until Series 5 so no one could even make a bootleg. We have waited this long. We will get it sooner or later.

Haven’t touched the game since March-ish. I’m just reading about these updates. I’ll check it out soon.
In the meantime…. Here’s a flashback to May 2020. Walling off Snooty in her front yard and tossing in trashbags and old tires until he/she asks to leave. Not my proudest moment, but she had to go

According to Amazon, my bootleg set of S5 just shipped and should be here Nov 17-24. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Link/seller? I can't find anything on there for the new ones.

Apparently I had not seen enough of the expansion - just after learning how to shine furniture, I got access to an area full of glowing moss and vines that I can harvest like mad.

So if Redd on Harv’s island has two fake pieces of art, am I forced to buy one in order for him to sell different pieces?
Posted on 11/11/21 at 7:49 am to Roll Tide Ravens
No, I believe the inventory on Harv's island doesn't update until each Monday.

I've been time skipping around so I could be confused at this point, but my understanding is that if he has two fake pieces and you buy one, the next day the empty slot will be filled with a new piece, and every week it should change out entirely on a Monday.

Ah, okay. That makes sense. Thanks!

Additional notes RE: DLC
When you hit a certain number of houses built, you'll receive a promotion and your pay per house will get bumped up a level.
At some point as you level up, a bottle with a DLC starts showing up on the DLC beach. So far these have been mostly Glowing Moss recipes for me.
You will also unlock the ability to do 'facilities' - the School is first, a Restaurant and/or Cafe are next.
Once the school is built, Leif will show up on your beach and unlock the ability for you to use hybrid flowers in your designs.
Once the Cafe is built, you can talk to the Barista to buy food items to put on display (using Poki, not Bells).
Once the Restaurant is built, every day you can go in the back and talk to the Chef and he'll give you a cooking recipe.
Every new facility seems to bring more villagers to the island to lurk around and be available to be chosen from.
Once you've designed a house for someone, they may show up on the back beach and will give you a floor or wallpaper based on what you designed their house with.
After spending a certain amount of Poki on furniture with Wendell in the Real Estate HQ, he will unlock a catalogue feature in his dialogue tree. You have to spend Poki on the stuff in here, but it's every single item you've unlocked to design a house so far and in every single color each piece is available in (not just the one you chose).
Once you own one version of the furniture bought with Poki, you can reorder that color through the Nook Shopping for Bells. You can also get Reese/Cyrus to recolor it to add the other variations to your Nook Shopping so you don't have to pay Poki for all the variations.
I really wish I'd realized about the specific villagers unlocking items in the catalogue sooner. I would have made better decisions
