I haven't touched this game in months. Hopefully it's something good. They also teased a new series of Amiibo Cards. I'm assuming you'll be able to get Raymond way easier once those release.
I still check in on it most days if I can, mainly because I really want to finish the art museum. The damn statues are killing me tho.
And I've been really fortunate with the campsite visitors, first it was Raymond and last week we got Lucky.
Also, the pandemic has been a blessing and curse for this game. It obviously helped fill a void when we were forced to work from home or whatever, but it also delayed the hell out of Nintendo's updates that may be too late now for many players.

Yes. Raymond, Judy, Dom, Audie, Sherb, Reniegh, Megan, and Cyd will almost 100% get amiibo cards. I have Audie but she was one of my first villagers and has a "starter" house. I want to get the amiibo card to invite her in and she will have her real house which is much nicer. There are also rumors of more new villagers. The New Horizons Direct should be interesting. I'll post the date if I see it.

I check into it most days too. I agree about the pandemic and this game.

I like collecting the real cards. I have over 90% of all 4 series so far. I have tons of duplicates if anyone else is trying to finish out their collection and wants to trade.

I am anxious to see who else will be in the set. Some are saying new villagers and there are several NPCs who don't have a card. I haven't collected the cards before but I will for this set.

About three hours to go. I haven't touched the game since around early March, so curious what they're going to add outside of a coffee shop to try to get more people back in the game.

Holy shite, that's a lot of new content.
Free update - Nov. 5
Paid DLC ($24.99) - Nov. 5
Switch Online Plus (N64 & Genesis virtual consoles) + ANCH Island Resort Expansion = $49.99/yr Family Access $79.99/yr

That's an absolutely absurd amount of content. If I start picking weeds now maybe the island will be clean again by Nov 5

Then you can replace them with the glowing, alien-looking ones from one of Kappa's mystery islands.
The ability to go to islands where the season/bugs are different is HUGE.
The campground behind Harv's cabin where all the vendors chill is pretty awesome, too.

Feels like they're throwing everything out to get people playing again. And some of these updates like the storage shed are really needed.
And being able to go Harves to get whatever any day of the week instead of waiting is a huge plus.

I think they spent so much time on the island resort expansion, they lost sight of main game and folks got burned out.
Everything in 2.0 should've been incrementally rolled out during 2021, every 2 months or so.

WOW Unbelievable amount of content!
I read somewhere yesterday that the Beautiful Island Ordinance keeps weeds off your island. Maybe it would get rid of them for you

I need to investigate that - the nintendo direct video was so long that every time I saw something I was excited about it moved on to something else I was excited about and by the end I was on overload.
I missed Sea Shanties, I know people have been excited about Brewster but I was excited about getting Sea Shanties back

Same here. i am excited about the amiibo cards too.
I also want to investigate about the difference between getting the DLC pack with or without the expansion pack Nintendo membership. I read that if you get it alone, you keep it forever. If you get it with the expansion pack and then cancel your Nintendo online subscription that you might lose the DLC pack. I am not sure that is true. I want to look into that more.

Yeah I would like to know a lot more about all of that. If it were just me, the likelihood of me playing the N64/Genesis stuff is low enough that I'd probably just buy the DLC at $25 and leave my $20 single sub alone. My brother's got a family sub though, he wants the N64/Genesis stuff and all three of his kids play ACNH and would want the expansion, so it's cheaper for everyone if I join his family group and get the DLC through the online expansion sub. So I'm curious how that works. Is it going to need the internet to check that we have a valid sub before letting us play the DLC each time we want to fly out of the airport?

Another thing ...
If you buy the DLC separately and down the road you get the expansion, does that effect the DLC?

What I've read so far might be wild speculation but people are saying if you buy the DLC outright, but then you get the expansion online service, you don't get any kind of discount for the fact that you already own the DLC.
