Just had my first tarantula island tonight too, and was super lucky to have Flick for the first time. Just paid my house and my incline off.

Created my own tarantula island and brought home 36. Still got a long way to go to pay off that second story I just added

I feel like everyone is so much further along in this game than I am... I should have the ladder available today for the first time.

I have 4 fruits planted on my island (need cherries and peaches still).

It's so easy to get sucked into this thing for hours and hours if i'm not careful

I'm just two days ahead of you. You're doing better than me with fruit though. I only have my island's native fruit, cherries, and the fruit that mum send which was pears. My peers bloomed today and I replanted all of them. I've also been aggressive replanting coconuts as well so I'll have a large supply for selling later.

I've gone to a random island every day and every day it's always been my native fruit. I haven't been able to find any new ones.

I was there too. You catch up pretty quick. You're only a few days behind me and a week or so behind everyone else. I need peaches. I got 2 cherries from a friend and planted one and was going to save one for my wife, but when I went to drop it for her I accidentally ate it

We're waiting for our cherry tree to bloom so we can plant some more.

Just FYI, don't be too aggressive on planting coconuts. They don't give you that big of a payout

I got lucky and got oranges once... last one I went to was bamboo so I harvested that to plant today

Is there anything else you can do with your beaches though, other than look at them?

You can fish and put furniture down there. You can actually have buildings/houses built on the beach as well.

My turnip prices have been 119 and 122 today (122 right now)

After seeing 500 last week, it's super tempting to hold out hope for a big one from someone

How do you plant fruit trees?

Dig a hole where you want the tree, select the fruit you want it to be from your inventory and hit Plant.

You also have to have a shovel... you might even have to have one equipped (which you should after digging the hole anyways)
