Black forest. Damn I can definitely remember this being my favorite map. I loved the matches that lasted 2-4 hours and everyone massed their units until the villages broke through all the trees and stopped the bottlenecks
I remember my buddy and me mass gathered trees on the bottom of the map and made a path to their bases and unleashed hell on their bases before they could even imagine moving their troops from the bottlenecks to save their shite. Most epic win ever

Yeah the sacrificial scout group always worked great in aoe2 when you could lure their guys out of the bases/ d lines and then when they are thinking you were an idiot they look back and you are sending in hell from the other side of the map with the rest of your guys. Haha, literally the strategy of being a troll to their lines to piss em off

I love AoEII but how has no one mentioned Warcraft 3. That game had a HUGE following and people still play BNET to this day (and not just DOTA)

Running rams up to their castles as celts while I cut through the back end of the black forest with Siege Onagers.....Always epic. I throughly enjoyed knocking out all the houses. Imagine panicking and trying re-create all your lost villies or soldiers...but you can't because you're at 105/20 pop

Any of you guys ever played any Deathmatch and used the rush strategy frequently? Which civ did you prefer?
Goth - INSANELY fast training infantry
