It's a huge monster spawner/trap. It will automatically kill the monster as they spawn in and I just collect the loot.
You can also make a gravity trap that drops mobs 23-24 blocks, brings them down to half a heart so you can punch them once, getting xp and loot.

I don't know, Stout. I'm seeing a lot of code violations. You of all people.

Yea the Parish inspector would fail me on a lot of stuff there. OSHA would have a field fay if they saw my labor practices.

Pretty damn cool there, Stout. I'm ready to see how my artistic abilities (or lack there of) play out on Wednesday

I just crossed some information that, if indeed true, is absolutely game changing for the Xbox 360 version. Not sure if this is new to anyone else...
Apparently, the world you're given in the Xbox 360 version is only as large as the map, and you apparently hit invisible walls once you reach the edge of the map - LINK
Forget our previous discourse regarding controls. Most of it is just mere preference. However, if this is in fact true, it essentially destroys the 360 version. The essence of Minecraft is limitless, unconstrained exploration. Instead of having an infinite world to work with, you're given a ~1000 x ~1000 box. If this is valid, it's really disappointing.
In the video, he built his house at the spawn point, and proceeded to walk to the right edge of the map. It only took him ~100 seconds before he hit an invisible wall. Meaning, it only takes ~200 seconds in real time to cross the entire map. As he mentioned, that's not even long enough for a day to expire in Minecraft time.

I will see what they say but the release is essentially a beta version and will be updated as they go along much like Minecraft on PC was. Not sure if that will be fixed but I can't imagine they would keep you limited like that. I am still buying it though.

That is disappointing to hear
It took 2 years for Minecraft on PC to reach it's current "complete" state and then it's still not 100% finished. I said earlier in this thread it's basically going to be the same way on Xbox but allegedly the updates will come much faster then they did for PC and the build Xbox gets is light years ahead of where MC was on PC when I bought it.

This seems like a technical impediment, though. The earliest alpha version of Minecraft had virtually infinite worlds from day one.
I suppose it shouldn't be surprising, if true. The 360 only has 512 megabytes of RAM.
Edit - Actually, the 360 has about 256 megabytes of available memory, since ~256 is allocated as vRAM.

Good point. They were probably pretty limited on this.
It still doesn't bother me as I never venture extremely far from my spawn and I also usually start a new world every other week. I get bored with worlds fast.
I know it will bother some people enough not to buy it though.

He was playing single though. Is it possible it expands with more players? But Cs had to keep his computer player image up and find something bad about the xbox version

If it is true then I will finally set up my own PC server and get kenny to get it on PC
ETA: I will still get it on Xbox though

Like Stout said...it might turn some people off but not me. I'll enjoy it either way and eventually get rid of the POS laptop and get it on there.

It has nothing to do with which version of the game is superior, and everything to do with the integrity of the actual game. While I felt that mouse control made playing the game on a PC the clear choice, this goes beyond that. A change such as this fundamentally alters the core of Minecraft.
The sense of limitless exploration and infinite world size contributed to make Minecraft what it is today.
However, this change also limits your creativity. Instead of your imagination serving as the only limit for what you can build, you're restricted to a finite space and forced to build within specified parameters.
Throw in a few more players, and resources could become an issue.
