Tell me about hitman. She told me to buy 1 and play all the way through until the last game.

You play as a Hitman.
Slow, sneak around, kill people.
You are rewarded the fewer people you kill though.

Older Hitman games or the newer World of Assassination Trilogy?

Dont expect to play a mission straight all the way through to the end the first time. Hitman, for me anyway, is all in the joy of experimentation in how you go about your hits. Take your time and explore the map and figure out your options. I'll a spend couple of hours figuring out how I want to execute and then go for it. It almost like being a movie director. I usually go for completely silent then go back and explore some of the "louder" options that are often pretty funny. The more you replay the maps and use different tactics the more unlocks you get.
You said she told you to buy one. As others have asked did she mean starting with the actual first game from 2000 or the World or Assassination part 1 from 2016? I would assume the World of Assassination series and thats a fine place to start

I never played the earlier Hitmans. I started on the PC with the one in like 2012-2014, believe it was called Hitman: Absolution. That one is okay, the Hitman in 2016 is what really pulled me into the series.
Literally only began playing because Giantbomb did soo much coverage of it.
The story, game is not the best, but the gameplay is awesome. I couldn't imagine begin a kid and doing kid stuff in the game to see what I can get away and still complete the mission.
The best part, IMO, and the way I play, is just going after the random optional objectives or way you can complete the main objective. I never concentrate just on the main objective, it simply is never that fun.

I’ve been looking into this as well.
You can apparently get 1-3 and play all three through the PS5 version of 3.
It’s like $100 which I’m not about to blow on a game I don’t know shite about.

The first hitman on PC provided some of the best comedy. Just have fun with it.

I paid $13 for Hitman 2 and $5 for all Hitman 1 content that I could play in Hitman 2. (Steam keys)

Whatever you do, dont start with this one. It plays differently than the ones before and while I know some liked it, I thought it sucked. Of the pre- World of Assassination games instead of starting with the very first game, I would start with Contracts as it is a re-imagining of the first games missions with better graphics and controls, then Hitman 2 and Blood Money

Yep it does, it is like a totally different type of game.

Been playing through them all in the hitman 3 engine. It was a no brainer for me since i owned 1 and 2 was on sale before 3 released. Amazing game. So much fun figuring out the different ways to execute targets

Its always fun to play through a map a couple times before moving on.. Only to come back later

Exactly. The more you play a level, the more fun it becomes. It is sometimes like a puzzle, with different events happening in time based on the various sequences you complete within the level. I got hours of replayability out of Hitman 2016.

I tried to kill everyone in all the levels without getting found out. Blood money definitely had the best maps for this.

The Hitman games are great. Imagine a game where you can play through the entire campaign twice and still go back a third and fourth time and have a completely different experience. That’s the new Hitman trilogy. And yes, I’d start with the 2016 Hitman game and follow it up with II and III.
