You ever make something inventive that you think will be good? Only to fail

Or have it not be so good.
Yesterday I was making tacos. And got this idea to try to make taco lasagna.
So I sauteed a little over a pound of beef with onions and taco seasoning.
Made a Bechamel and melted some pepper jack and some mexican cheese in it.
Got some flour tortillas, and flash fried them after cutting into shapes to fit a meatloaf pan.
Laid down the tortilla, then meat, then tortilla, then enchilada sauce, then cheese mixture, then tortilla, then enchilada sauce and repeated that process again.
Baked at 350 for 30 minutes.
It came out not too good. The beef fat got soaked up by the tortillas, the sauces didn't work. It goes fine when it's Italian seasonings. But this dish was my fail of the week.
I will retire Taco Lasagna, with the pickle pie and Mama June's Sketti as my culinary failures.

had the exact opposite happen to me.
I made some wild chicken concoction on friday that came out damn good. I made it all "out of my head" and didn't really follow a recipe so it will be interesting to see if it can be duplicated

That sounds good on paper. Sucks it didn't come out.

Had lunch with a girl who decided to do something inventive. We were in a Hotel restaurant for breakfast.
I ordered coffee. She ordered hot tea.
Waitress to her: Would you like lemon with your tea?
Girl: Yes
There were little packets of cream already on the table.
She got her hot tea, squeezed the lemon juice in it and then poured in a packet of liquid cream.
She learned a chemistry lesson.
