I don't think its significantly better to justify their prices

Did you notice in the article that the new one is going to be "a little more upscale"? Upscale means higher prices. Is this a mistake?

From when I can remember it was tigre's, Vincent's and monjuni's

Superior is okay food, living right there I will just be happy to have another bar/restaurant to throw in the mix.
I think it will prove to be a great play for them, Kenilworth and magwoods are being bought up by young professionals as the oldies die off.
Also, within the next 10 years the entire Burbank corridor will be developed with neighborhoods. Because there is no forethought by the developers there will be no restaurants to feed those people. If/When Kenilworth gets extended to Burbank SG will be printing money.

Excellent points. That entire area is going to blow up over the next 10 years

What are you taking about?!?!
It's barely edible gruel for the masses! No creativity, no flavor, and too expensive. Anyone who eats that is a pleb and shouldn't be allowed an opinion on food
/sarcasm

why do some of y'all get so offended when someone hates on a restaurant? it always happens
I don't get it
If you like the restaurant, go and enjoy yourself, don't be so insecure that you have to get all butthurt on the internet because someone said a restaurant that you like sucks

I couldn't care less if anyone goes to the new restaurant or not. I'm not a huge fan of the place to begin with but some of the comments here are just asinine and I was trying to point that out.

Agree to disagree then...but the place is packed every weekend for a reason but I'm sure that's because the people eating there have no palate and wouldn't know good food even if Thomas Keller was serving it to them. They'd probably all rather be on Guy Fieri's new show anyways.

I mean...Golden Corral and Ryans is packed every weekend too
SG is standard TexMex, and for me, standard TexMex is generally crap. But thats just me. Plenty of people seem to love TexMex. Plenty of people also seem to love Florida Georgia Line.

So you don't care for the place yet come on here knighting? Come on, this is the food board.
BR getting another mediocre place is exactly what NOLA folks expect. When reality fits the narative we "try to point that out".

lets not act like mediocre places don't open in NOLA all the time

I don't really get the backlash over this.

Superior sucks IMO
Recently just went to the one on St Charles and the food was so bad that no one ate anything they ordered. It was off the brunch menu though
