"May be" doesn't mean it's the best way, but sometimes a microwave is all someone has.

No. Theres just a lot of it. All this bullshite about rinsing the sauce off is, well, bullshite. Neither the sauce nor the ribs are horrible. But its definitely something you serve in a pinch or to save time. Like Kraft Mac & Cheeze.

Indirect heat for an hour or so should be fine. Used them a few times for good result.

Reminds me of that youtube video where the chef microwaves a brisket and feeds it to a food critic. The critic said it was perfectly acceptable casual dining brisket
As to OP, the beans suggestion is brilliant. Throw your own ribs on your smoker. Use the gift ribs for the beans and what not. And then thank your mom because it let you get the rest of the meal done while the ribs cooked and everything turned out great.
