Bumping this in light of the mentions of a running wine thread (no slight to LA's, this one just had a good title for it)

Bump again. We can keep this going if people want. I know I slacked off a bit keeping it going.

Had this last night and it was really tasty. 80% Cab Sav 20% Cab Franc blend from Red Mountain. I had the Col Solare at Bob's for my birthday. Both great Red Mountain cabs for steak night

Tried this last weekend after your recommendation in the other thread. Very different from what I usually drink, but I enjoyed it very much. My BIL thought it smelled like sunscreen

Try Cade S. B. A little pricy for SB. but best one I've had.

Great bump.
Last bottle until October/November when my shipment comes. Opening it for wife and I’s 21st anniversary

My wine stock is lower than I’d like it to be. 2021 was our italy year but I doubt that happens so those 10 cases won’t get bought.
Maybe we’ll get to go to Spain and I can load up on Rioja.

We are well stocked with quality for the long weekend ahead. I hope to remember to post.
Finished a Joel Gott Zin tonight from Saturday.

Had a Goldeneye Pinot Noir with dinner tonight. Excellent pour. Restaurant didn’t charge an unfair restaurant price either.

I still have about 250 bottles. I just hate seeing stock of certain ones go down.

One of my favorite pinot noirs

What's your cellar/cabinet?
I'd always planned on doing offsite (since there is a good one near my house) once we got serious. We're considering a move, so now I'm looking for alternatives.

Even if you build a wine storage in your new place, I highly recommend looking into offsite, as well (if available in your new locale).
Makes delivery pain-free and they may even be a wholesaler (Classic Wine Storage in DFW is).

Right now I have three racks and two wine refrigerators. Here's the racks. I need more wine to fill them back up. The room is kept at 68 degrees and no direct sunlight comes into this room.

Damn, didn’t have to flex so hard.
Jk, legitimately impressive. Storage and heat are my biggest concerns in LA as far as amazing any kind of collection/ aging wines. I would Always feel like I’m 1 power outage or blown AC unit away from cooking a lot of money.

How did this happen? When did you get interested?
How many bottles do you try to keep on hand?

I try to get to Italy every three years and purchase several cases there. I didn't really get into wine until about six years ago and then wondered why I hadn't gotten into it earlier.
we're fortunate to have several Total Wine locations near us. I usually purchase daily drinking bottles from them. Daily drinking being a bottle in the $25 or so range.
I've made a couple of trips to Napa Valley and shipped wine back from there. I also was on several California vineyards wine clubs but I have pared those back.
Most of my wine is wine that can age. Chardonnay, Chianti Classico, Brunello, Barolo, Super Tuscans, Cab Sav, etc. What I have is mostly reds.
About 60% of what is in those racks is Italian wines with a little French and a fair amount of California wines. My last trip to Italy I shipped back 10 cases.
I usually only open bottles when I have guests or my kids are over. When we do that anywhere from 3-8 bottles get opened.
