each bring one bottle to a dinner (makes 3 bottles total for everyone to taste) that cost between $40 - $60 per bottle. Everyone gets a blind taste (not a full glass pour), and then decides which one they like. For dinner, everyone gets a full pour of the one they like (unless everyone picks the same wine, ha ha). Great way to taste 3 quality wines for the price of one bottle and you might learn something. Just a thought. I have beer drinkers drinking Cabernets with their steaks now because they didn't know that wine could taste that good.
WacoTiger, thank you for opening your home to the first annual TD F&DB wine tasting event.

The Eurocave units are really nice. I looked at them long and hard before I went with a Le Cache unit. Ours holds around 650 bottles. Since it is in a formal area of our home, we wanted something that was finished like the rest of our furniture. I thought it would give up plenty of space, but I have managed to fill it half way in under two years. Most of what we buy is from wineries we have visited in California. I'd love to start learning about French and Italian wine, but I'm enjoying learning about Napa and Sonoma right now.

Obviously, you know more about wine than I do.
Maybe about the big boys like Gallo because they pay 90% of my check, but you clearly know your stuff.

I would venture to guess that a $60 bottle of wine (that would probably cost $120 in a restaurant) would probably be above 90% of US wine consumers' budget for wine
True, but even the premium and ultra premium stuff is really good for under $25. Joseph Carr is a great cab in the $20 range.

A lot of wine that I drink it small batch and limited distribution.
Michael David wines are fairly widely distributed, but they are still independent and put out a great product. The everyday stuff from $12-20 is very good then the higher stuff like Earthquake in the $40 range and Rapture in the $60 range are fantastic. Big bold cabs and Lodi zinfandels.
Orin Swift is growing since Gallo got the wine maker but is still not too widely distributed outside of fine wine stores. Papillon is under $100 and a very good Bordeaux blend. Machete also from Orin Swift is around $50 and was number 6 on wine spectator's top 100 of 2016.
There are so many fantastic wines under $100 it's not even funny.

I'm a huge Italian wine fan. Italian wines can be very pricy as well (the three B's, Barolo, Barbaesco and Brunello) and some Super Tuscans are extremely expensive. We heading back to Italy in 2018 and we'll be doing Tusccany (around the Chianti Classico region) and Piedmonte. I can't wait.

Love Palermo. A very nice $40-ish bottle of wine. We are headed to Napa with friends in November and his tasting room is high on our list.
That trip will be interesting as I'm not a huge fan of the current style of Cabernet.

Hit Young Inglewood, White Rock, Spottswoode and Corison for well-balanced wines. Some of our Napa favorites. Club members at a few. We aren't fans of the huge, overly jammy cabs.
I'm also a big fan of Failla - club member there. Start one of your days off with the spotlight tour at 10 AM. Fantastic pinots and chards - primarily Sonoma fruit but their facility is on the Silverado Trail up toward Calistoga.

We have the Eurocave Revalation and love it but we are running out of room!! We are remodeling a room into a speakeasy/tasting room. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on the LeCache 5200. How do you like yours? Any tips when ordering or setting up?
