Willis, Tx BBQ

I am headed over there for a wedding at the end of April. Truth is about an hour from there, and I don't think I can get away for that long. Does anyone have rec's for some solid Tx BBQ north of Houston or around Willis? TIA

In Conroe there's Vernon's Kuntry Bar-B-Que on Hwy 105 West and McKenzie's Barbeque & Burgers on 75.
There's Killen's BBQ in The Woodlands.
And in Tomball there's Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue.

corkscrew in spring is the best bbq you'll find north of houston. some of the best brisket i've had anywhere

Can vouch for Corkscrew. Place is amazing.
Never been to Killens in the Woodlands but his joint in Pearland is top shelf.
Have never been to the others mentioned.

The best barbecue near Willis is Bar A Barbecue in Montgomery. Rated as one of the top new bbq places in Texas by Texas Monthly. I’ve eaten at Corkscrew many times and Bar A is just as good. Great brisket and sides too. Highly recommend.
