Anyone ever go to this on Government Street? From what I can see it's mainly to support local artists and local restaurants. Am I wrong, what can you tell about it?

Also, it is worth spending a Friday night doing?

TIA

Been several times. Nice chance to listen to some music, peruse some art, have a few drinks and grab some chow. No reason not to go.

Lots of bands set out in front restaurants, locals artists/companies selling stuff and giving out samples. There's wine and beer tasting at Calandro's. You can walk around with an open container. I usually walk down to the Brew-ha-ha strip mall then catch the shuttle to Curbside. It's something good to do with your SO.

I love White Light Night. Go every year. However, I don't love freezing my arse off and its showing ~45 that night.

Fun time if you don’t mind walking some. There are usually shuttle busses around the route to take you back to your car. It will be cold, though, so prepare for that.

Have y'all had luck with the shuttle? I've never gotten on it because there's always 50+ people waiting for what seems like 20+ minutes. I usually just get an Uber for like $4.

No, when I went was when I lived on one end (near Eugene) and my SO lived on the other (near jefferson), so we’d just have a car parked at each end, start on one side and walk the length to the other’s house on the opposite end

Appreciate the tips! The SO & I will probably check it out Friday and just tolerate the weather. Seems like a fun time, just didn't want to go out and freeze my arse off for nothing, but if there's free samples and good music then I'm in. Nothing a nice old fashioned at the end of the night can't fix

been 3 years in a row. Gotten noticeably bigger each year. Should be in the high 40's low 50's so dress accordingly. Once they get this road diet thing done the event should be a lot easier to deal with.

Reginelli's is an awesome place to eat too. Good place to bring the family and they are in that area of white light nights. Great pizza place from New Orleans. They have pizza, calzones and sandwiches. Love their most popular Uptowner sandwich.

I was pleasantly surprised last night at just how many people still came out, even though it was fairly cold. Definitely noticed an uptick in vendors as well. Hopefully events like this will be a tradeoff for what I imagine will be a significant amount of future annoyance due to the road diet.

Wish that baton rouge had more night events like this...
Especially downtown being able to drink outside is so nice...if it's not for you stay at home
Wake up downtown development district you are so boring and have so many rules and stupid regulations
Build all the hotels and apartments downtown that you want....but please give people something to do....
