My grandpa was just missing one of the decanters. I asked my grandma, but she isn’t sure if his have any whiskey still in them. I’ll be checking that out soon.

No kidding. Best acquisitions of last year for me were JD SR rye and stagg Jr. Managed to get backups of each, all for retail. I'm not very confident in history repeating itself. 2pd is just really solid all around.

Been worth picking up as long as they’ve been making it…

This is better than the A&B picks last year, C was pretty solid…this rings more of the ECBP bells that I’ve been used to over the years

I am not sure whether to post this here or on the travel board, so I will post in both places.

I am going to be driving from Bowling Green to Lexington in a few weeks. I'll be taking my time, and want to take a few distillery tours.

I'd prefer to visit stops in Bardstown or Lexington, but I'll head up to Louisville if there are any can't miss stops.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I remember a couple of years ago, the Costco in BR had a huge supply of stagg jr that lasted for 6 months, plus they had a pallet of Taylor small batch that lasted almost as long

shite, a couple of years ago I got the full van winkle lineup and 3 BTAC out of Costco Nola on one day. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Hopefully they are back sooner rather than later!

There isn’t any rare stuff being handed out at distilleries. When we went a couple of years ago we hit BUffalo Trace, not the hard hat tour, it was sold out. It was a good stop. Hit 4 rose for tasting only, it didn’t take much time but the tasking wasn’t great that day. We visited 3 boys, which is a metal building that we drank from the barrels, barreled our own bottles from the barrel, it was really cool.

It seems like some distilleries have some stuff that is only available there. At the Evan Williams experience I was able to get a Evan Williams Single Barrel that was proofed up to 105 that was really good. I know Old Forester will occasionally have special releases as well as Heaven Hill. I think people generally line up for stuff like that though.

My buddy got a Michter's Barrel Strength Bourbon from the distillery at the end of February. I would also go there to get your personalized Fort Nelson Rye that you get to bottle yourself.
