Either of those would be a good entry into Irish whiskey. I've only had a handful of others in the category, but really like everything I've had from redbreast.
The 12 yr cask strength is one of my favorite bottles, including all of the bourbons. The initial pour of the small batch is promising. It's sweeter than the 12, but not overpoweringly so. They're both complex and creamy, and drink lower than their proofs.

Not sure what took so long, but finally cracked this one (sitting in cabinet for months). Really interesting pour. Crazy that it's so young.

The small batch cask strength may be better than the 12yr cask strength. It seems to be have more going on. More research needed after a neck pour.

I'm going to have to do a blind test tomorrow. Both are impressive. I'm kind of hoping the 12 wins simply because I have a backup.
