Jason with the Mash and Drum youtube channel posted this review of the Dickel 15yr single barrel. Dude is praising the shite out of this one. Anyone try it yet? Personally I'm not a GD fan, but he sells it well. I'm definitely curiousl

I posted a review in this thread back on the "Rouses" weekend. It's a great value.

Had an unusually successful last week of hunting. I wasn't planning on getting anything. Of course that's becoming a frequently uttered line.

I had only seen one bottle of the KC 12 locally over the past few months (needless to say I bought it). The last two times I've been to the coast, they've been fully stocked. I'll never fully understand the allocation/distribution quirks, but it definitely pays to check whenever traveling. And yes, it's delicious.

Does it have the flintstones vitamin taste? I'm not a huge fan of that tasting note, and I got burned with a Barrell Single Barrel Pick that was 14 year Dickel that I do not really enjoy, so I've been hesitant to even get blends that include Dickel in them now.

I haven't had much else in the Dickel line to compare it to (although I know I've had sourced stuff from them). Oak, some cinnamon, and orange are the three most prominent notes. The orange is a good note, not an artificial/vitamin kind of flavoring, at least to me. Given the history you mentioned, I'd say try before you buy though.

the standard Dickel bottle has that vitamin taste. The 9 year Martins pick does not have it.
