I bought that bottle about 4 months ago or so. Think I paid $220 for it. It's good. Very oaky. What I like to call "mature".
It does get people talking when we pour tastings.

I don't know if they own those brands, or if those brands just source 100% of their juice from MGP.
What's making this different is it's actually MGP branded. They never bottle and sell retail in an MGP branded bottle.
ETA: yes, MGP owns the Penelope and Remus labels

Yes they do. I know they bought Penelope, I don’t know if they bought or created Remus, but regardless both are now owned by MGP

Lasso Motel Amburana Cask Finish
Ran out of Rio so I went on a mission to find another amburana finished bourbon. Picked up a Dark Arts and the Lasso Motel. Found 2 Rios the next day. I’ve not been big on finished whiskeys, but I have been digging the amburana ones. Sounds like it’s a live it or hate it deal.
