I'm a big fan of Old Carter bourbon. Recently got that rye and wasn't a fan.
From past experience, their ryes are basically just double oaked MGP, that was pre-divorce, not sure if that has changed now.

A local Chevron has some on the shelf for $200(I think). I passed even though I love the bourbon.

Not worth it for $200, IMO.
You can get 12 year MGP ryes for less than that, the OCs are typically like 7-8 years old.

How much is the Old Fitz?
It's 55-60 retail
Glock 17, you guys find it for retail? I guess I need to find somewhere else to look.

Enjoying this, so much better than the Havana. Not overly sweet and has a pepper finish with a touch of honey. Cheers !
jt696,
I think i saw a Rio at a shop. It was expensive. How much have you this for? There isn't much of this around I don't think....so I probably won't see it anywhere.
I do like Penelope. I've liked everything I've had.

I still haven't had the Weller 107. I've got a bottle of 12yr. It's good but to be honest I like Eagle Rare and EH Taylor better. I paid 140 for the Weller 12 and was a little disappointed.
I think I have expectations when I pay secondary prices because they are had to find in Fort Worth. Then I get disappointed. After paying secondary for Weller 12 and Blantons and not being impressed, I've been scared to pay secondary prices for Old Fitz and Stagg.

I have only found one 107 and a 12. I sold the 12 because I have a friend who loves it. I love the 107, but in blinds it's either beaten by or a close tie with Bardstown wheated for me so it's not huge deal for me to not be able to get it. Hell, Penelope wheated is very close and that's not even bringing up the various MM series.

I'm with you AlxTgr. I'll acquire Weller 107 one day, but I'm killing myself to find it. Nothing wrong with Bardstown. Solid wheated bourbon there.
I've finally tried New Riff. I like it as well. Very similar to Bardstown.
Penelope I like as well. I've wheated, toatsted, architect (french oak) and like them all. "MM" Series.....what is that?

The Makers Mark Cask Strength age stated bottles for $45 -50 is a damn good bourbon. Wellers never impressed me much. The 12 year is so meh. 107 and Full proof are good but not worth the chase or secondary.

The RC DC store pick, Costco - I got that Dog in Me, just pushed north of 1k on secondary. The tater label is genius/hilarious but that’s ridiculous.
