Evening gents.

FPD was an undocumented Weller 12 at a new bourbon watering hole in town called Bourbon Speaks. I was really surprised how well that place was put together. Added to the rotation with high frequency.

SPD after putting both of the kids to bed.

Let's go! Good luck!

Honestly 1 -> 2 is so much more challenging than 0 -> 1 that I'm at the point of just going for 3&4, because it can't be any worse than the last 2 months.

Anyone finding Still Austin Tanager? All the bottles up here were sold before anyone I know even saw them.

Total Wine in Mandeville had an unattended Bourbon sample table this past weekend. I did enjoy pouring a hearty sample of the Still Austin Red corn. Ill have to bring my glencarin next time

I saw the same bottle but got distracted by the few bottles of Eagle Rare for $51. I meant to go back and pour 2 of those little cups full of Still Austin.

Is this bottle any different than their regular single barrel release? I almost picked up a bottle when I saw it at Rouse’s and I’m not too familiar with their different recipes. The all red label caught my eye

Four Roses has 2 different mashbills and 5 different yeast strains. The original single barrel is OBSV, if you look at the neck tag of the new red labels it will display the recipe of the single barrel.

The 10 are:

OBSV
OBSK
OBSF
OBSO
OBSQ
OESV
OESK
OESF
OESO
OESQ

You can google the profiles of each of these recipes

ETA: the second letter references the mashbill, E=low rye, B=high rye. The last letter references the yeast strain.
