I know who both those guys are, and I dont doubt Rare Bird has inside info on WT products. I just take anything these guys say with a huge grain of salt, I like Russell’s reserve it’s a top flight bottle for availability and price. I would be interested to know who or why anyone from WT would release these details to a,guy with a blog dedicated to WT products. See where this is going? I don’t need to think, there is magic in a bottle of Russell’s but so many people will run out and grab one now that have passed it up for a Weller Green Label cause it’s BT vs WT. Also thanks for letting me know why a guy at the liquor store was buying 5 bottles of RR 10 on Monday.

Do you think that’s all that he is? He definitely also wasn’t the one to start the rumor, he just consigned it saying that the LL/ME bottles are much better than the Russell’s 10 of the previous couple years.
He has his own label now, Pride of Anderson County where he has released a handful of highly aged Wild Turkey sourced barrels.

If you like, the guy great, I’m not here to rain on the parade. I am just wary of any of these folks that are so connected with the distilleries themselves, I can’t take them seriously.

I forgot about this one. Found it buried in a cabinet.

It’s an LL/ME laser code which from rumors online supposedly is the “reject” barrels that didn’t make the cut for Russell’s 15
I need a new bottle of R10 anyway so maybe I can get that code.

I wouldn't even say that I like the guy, I don't have an opinion on him one way or another in that regard, but I do think that he knows his stuff in regards to Wild Turkey whiskey. Like I said, he wasn't even the one putting it out there, he was just responding to people asking him about it and to him it's different. Jason C. from the Mash & Drum also said it's different in his opinion and he did a side by side between an older batch and a newer one.
I don't even have a dog in this hunt because like I said, it's not a bottle that I go to ever really, so I have no comparison. I just wouldn't outright claim that these guys are full of shite when they obviously know whiskey

This is similar to the laser code fiasco for ECBP C923, where some people claimed there was no difference and others did blinds and could pull out the differences. Are there whiskey tubers that are full of shite? Absolutely, but if you know whiskey it should be pretty easy to tell who knows their stuff and who doesn't.

The problem is this is an old release. I bought a bottle of R10 about 6-8 weeks ago and it is the release after the LL/MM. The bottles on the shelves now are even more recent releases so you would have to find a liquor store that doesn't have much turnover.

Yeah, it’s the May release. I found mine in a small town.

I’ve got an LL/MB which according to one blogger is filled with the yet to be released Russell’s 17. J/k
I tried to find the LL/ME today, but only found I’m a few days late, the scavengers have already pounced on this one.

Speaking of WT, here in OH the Jimmy Russell Aniversary 101 will be a part of,the Single Barrel Saturday releases this weekend. It’s the states massive release of their barrels picks. People line up/ camp out for this, I would like to get a bottle but I’m not dealing with that shite over it.

Like I posted earlier, the LL)ME was released 6 months ago and will be gone just from normal purchasing by people like me that like it. I bought a bottle 6 weeks ago and it was already the next release after LL/ME. The Internet hype is way late on that bottle. Now this bottle is still out there and damn good
