That's a healthy pour of Kluke!
Interesting tidbit about the double oak peerless bourbon. Jonathan said the cherry cola pick was actually a double oak, but he couldn't advertise it that way because they hadn't released the product yet. It's supposedly the first one.
I think rouses had a similar experience with the rye, offering the first double barrel well before peerless rolled out the product.
This one has dusty oak in spades. I don't really have anything else like it in the cabinet.

Is it worth the price of admission? I saw one of these on the shelf recently.

That's not an easy answer. I think the breaking bourbon review pretty accurately captures my impressions. The nose is very good, the palate is pretty good to good, and the finish is a little bit above average. Some will find it to be too dry and oaky, but it doesn't cross the line for me. I think it's better than EC18 for instance. There's more going on than the tannic notes.
If someone recommended a similar bottle at the same price point, I'd probably pass. But having one bottle like it is worth it to me. When I'm in the mood for that dusty oak, it definitely hits the spot.

How's it going epic?
Just bottled this after 3-4 weeks of finishing. It's a barrel aged Manhattan using BT mash that was previously aged. I'll definitely have to try it again. It's considerably better than what I tried at the beginning of the process. I used cheaper vermouth for this one, but next time I think I'll just go with one of my standard Manhattan combos. This stuff would be perfect for travel as well.

It’s going man, I’ve been on a rye kick lately.
How about you?
What’s the process for the barrel aged manhattan?

Really simple. I just mixed 2 parts whiskey (750 ml) with 1 part sweet vermouth (375), added an ounce or two of maraschino cherry juice, and probably 25-30 dashes of bitters. It yielded just a tad over 750ml after aging for 3-4 weeks.
