I prefer this cheaper, smokier mezcal in a ranch water over the good mezcal.

I've only had one of those sib ryes, but mint was really prominent. It's an ideal after dinner pour imo. I have also had their malted and Balboa ryes, but didn't get that note in either. I can safely recommend all of them though.

We doing te quila up in here tonight

I haven’t had much mezcal, kinda like warm on it atm. I got 2 bottles of some home grown stuff that’s interesting but eh. Haven’t had them mixed in a drink tho.

I’m trying to think of a Mexican dish for a cooking challenge. I may just drink instead

Mezcal? The best mezcal is from small family producers from little villages.

Yea not made for the comercial market. The guy I got it from gets it in bulk somehow and bottles it up for sales state side.

That happens a lot. The stuff from those guys I've had is usually in a used plastic water bottle. I love that about mezcal. It's still pretty authentic

I'm up in Dallas. We have a mezcalaria here that sources direct from those small producers. It's expensive but eye opening in it's variety and complexity.

Ouch, that is pricey. There is a mezcal club of the month thing that sources direct from the producers. Ive been to one of their tastings and they source some good stuff. I'm about to do their cheap version where you get 3 or 4 small bottles every 3 months. LINK /

Yea a little I felt. There was some air travel cost worked into that. Under 2 bills for both from Cali. Checked out that link briefly and I think the price is in line mine are 750s. Looked like the 375s on there were 55+.

Cannatas has been on a nice run of picks. A good 10 year ECBP just dropped as well.
