we have it for 45 at Calandro

If you find it for 32, buy it. Thats cheaper than cost I think

Picked up a bottle of Makers Cask Strength this weekend.. Certainly has a bit more Fire in it than a bottle of 46... It was really good though

Brother bringing me a bottle of WLW 12 from Houston this afternoon. Going to make a poor man pappy. What is the best mix 50/50/ 60/40 107/12.
Never mixed before, what is the go to method? I know it has to rest for a while, how long?

My vote goes to 50:50 and a week or two is plenty enough time.

I found a discontinued Willet 4yr Single Barrel Rye last month. Only other rye from Willet I've had was the 2yr cask strength. Anyone tried this 4 yr or know why it was discontinued?

When one's taste buds are ready, Lagavulin 16 will put to shame 99% of the bourbon mentioned in this thread.

Scotch has much more diversity of taste vs bourbon so snooty types can get much snootier about scotch than bourbon. Honestly though 99% of them don't have a clue what they are talking about. Lagavulin 16 is good but better than 99% of bourbons, probably not. Is Macallan 21 better than 99% of bourbons. Yes, but it is priced accordingly.

Bourbon has a lot of limitations on how it can be made that Scotch doesn't. So 2 evenly priced bourbons will taste relatively similar vs 2 evenly priced scotches that can taste like they came from different worlds. Try a Lagavulin (or any Islay scotch) and then try a Glenfiddich or a Glenlivet. Is Lagavulin better than Glenfiddich...? Are blondes better than redheads? Is Lagavulin 16 better than Jefferson Reserve 21? Probably not.
