Do ya'll know if anyone in Laffy has any Elijah Barrel Proof at the moment. Was gonna pick some up in New Orleans Friday but my flight didnt get in before Dorignacs closed for the night. I'm actually working over in New Iberia so if there are any shops there to recommend that would be more convenient

That's what I figured haha. Doubt I will make it by Marcello's or the other place after work as I think ya'lls traffic might be worse than BR and I may just want to get back home.

Does it make more sense for me to get off in Breaux Bridge on the way in from BR in the morning? Took me 45 minutes to get from 103A exit to the client in New Iberia

I was at my brother-in-laws bbq the other day and I found this old bottle in his bar and thought it may be worth something so I set it aside for him, he doesn't drink at all was going to put it out so people could mix it with coke. Anyone know what this is worth, it is still sealed even though you can't tell from the picture I took. The other side is totally intact. Also, he has like 3 other fifths of Old Fitzgerald from the 60s but they are open and about 2/3s gone....I was sipping on them though and they were really good.

480, those bottles vary but the unopened one is definitely worth something.

If you enjoy bourbon at all if hang onto it for a while. That's old Stitzel-Weller juice, much desired in many circles.

I'd sip on the unopened ones (no mixing!) and compare to other bourbons. I can't promise it's great juice but I'd bet on it.

Why would I email you if you have no clue? For real though if he decides to sell it I will let you know. Any help figuring out what this is worth would be appreciated, I have been googling it a lot but can't see anywhere this was sold. It does say the 6 year is actually the rarest and that the "Pappy" from Pappy Van Winkle was the guy behind this brand at the time, some even say it is the "real" Pappy, so I assume it is worth at least a few hundred bucks. The quart bottles are from the mid-60s and late 50s and I have seen those had sold for over a grand but they are open, I have been enjoying the shite out of them. I still can't believe he put them out so people could have bourbon and cokes.

Ya I know the unopened ones aren't worth selling and I have been sipping them, they are great! He let me have them all but I wouldn't let him give me the unopened bottle, I told him I would find out a price and let him know in case he wants to sell it.

Figured it didn't hurt to ask.

I honestly have no clue about a price either but I do know that I'd like to find out what it tastes like.

Personally, I'd drink it, it's history. If bourbon isn't your thing though try one of the numerous bourbon facebook groups and don't sell it for at least a few days to get offers in.

I love bourbon and like I said I have been drinking the others and they are great but I told my brother in law I would help him sell this one since it isn't opened. Is there a Bourbon FB page you suggest I follow?

The public groups you can join are Bourbon Info Exchange, Old Liquors Exchange, and Whiskey Collectables - Buy & Sell Group. If you want an invite to others, email me.

Also, I found this. LINK

Man I looked everywhere, even all over that board, and didn't see that. Thanks! So I am guessing this would be around $150 if that was worth $300.

Np.

It really depends on the buyer. Some people are gonna complain about the torn tax stamp so if the other side isn't torn, I'd post both pictures and let people make up their own mind.

My guess is $100-150. The reason being for the low end is that pints typically get low balled.

EDIT: Though on a bottle like this it may not.

I just remembered its a half-pint so it probably would be more like $75 The other side isn't torn, the side I posted is because the stamp isn't flush with the bottle so any pressure against it would tear it. At that price I am just gonna tell him I am taking it and drinking it.

ETA: In this pic you can see what I am talking about, the one side is still intact and you can see how it sticks out.

That's the call I'd make too. Anything old I find, I'm drinking.

Unfortunately I never have that luck.

Ill take pics of the other bottles tonight. I asked him where he got them and he said "from a dead person" Once day a month he works for this estate sale company cleaning out houses where the owner had died for extra cash. The company told him to throw out all of the liquor but since he was having a BBQ for 100 people he brought them home, score for me! He usually would have just tossed them since he doesn't drink but I told him if I find out he tosses and old bottles of bourbon in the future he can expect a swift kick in the nuts from me.
