Tonight's pour is EH Taylor small batch. The more I drink this line, the more I like it.

The nose is incredible. Maple syrup, burnt sugar and a bit of citrus.

The mouth feel is almost buttery.

The initial taste brings out more maple and honey.

The finish starts with a bit of spice and turns sweet for a long long time.

If anyone is wondering, that is my hack version of a review.

The barrel proof is the same thing but on steroids. I haven't had a chance to crack open the single barrel yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

I had a blantons neat first then upon ordering my second glass the tender and I started talking a bit about bourbon then she dropped that they had a bottle of pappy 10 yr. So I bought a glass. It was $15 on the ticket.

Fred,

You wouldn't happen to want to sell or trade for that bottle of Pappy 15? Let me know.

I've opened it so you probably don't want it. The others are unopened though

I'm afraid we've seen the last of the Elmer T Lee (as we know it) save for a few strays here and there. We probably were not going to see any more of it until the Fall anyway. Now at the very least they will have to change the labeling some. I've also heard some talk of it being a special or limited release in the future.

You think? I guess if he picked the barrels something will have to change but to do away with it seems extreme considering the popularity. Then again if there are barrels he's picked that have yet to be bottled, I can see Elmer turning into a limited release

Haven't checked this thread in a while and this makes me sad if true. Very sad. Looks like I'll have to dig around Lafayette tomorrow for every bottle I can find.

I'm not saying that they are doing away with it OR turning it into part of the BTAC. Think EH Taylor releases. A little less supply with a higher price point. Makes sense with the shortages and the fact that ETL just died and he was involved in picking the barrels. Just repeating what I've seen posted on Bourbon Enthusiast and Straight Bourbon.com
