Just went to Calandros on my lunch break. Bought a bottle of Blantons. Opened it up when I got in my truck. It was dumped on 6/2/14. I toured Buffalo Trace on that date. Its possible I saw that bourbon go into the bottle. We were destined to meet again.

haha, that is pretty cool

I should have specified that I opened the box, not the bottle. Although it was tempting.

Thanks for the info. I tried it about 2 months ago at a friend's house. His dad ordered a bottle from Caskers last year and let us try it. I really enjoyed it and have been looking to buy a bottle and wouldn't you know it, caskers has it now. They are a total rip off though, so I'm going to either wait until the next time I'm in Texas or until it comes to LA.

No argument here. 2-3 minutes of internet searches reveals that their prices are about 40% higher than everyone else's.

ive bought or traded for some stuff on there. i feel like i've got pretty good deals. put it this way, i've never paid over $190 for any bottle i've got on there and that includes multiple ER17's, multiple 4roses limiteds, and a '11 wlw.

Casker's is merely an aggregator. They don't have a warehouse, they take orders then place them with partners who actually ship the orders.

AE Rye can be ordered and shipped to LA here:

Thanks for the info. Caskers is charging a hefty premium for their services.

For those in NOLA tonight: Avenue Pub is doing Pappy flights (15, 20 & 23 yr) upstairs while supply lasts...$65, but half ounce pours.

Too high for me, but if you want to try all three together, there are very few opportunities (outside of NOLAGT's house) like this to do so.
