Looks like some excellent times were had at the camp!

Ran across some Parkers Heritage Malt today. Anyone on here tried it?

I love it. Very unique flavor, bold and complex. Perfect proof for me. I am glad I bought two.

I have a ph malt and I had a sample. It's good...id get one at least to enjoy if you come across it.

Handy is definetly under rated. I mean...its crap...don't seek it out even tho it does make a good sazerac.

After some extensive scotch drinking tonight I have some Intel of the simple sort.

This was the line up

And very basically

Glen 14 and 15 are both very good and are about the same $ I think. I would snatch up either on any given day. Probably more the 14 if its a smaller special release. It's really good.

The aberlour double cask is good...but idk if it's worth the price. It's not bad but I have better bourbons for less. And I think the for around the same price the aberlour a'bunadh is MUCH better. Could be the proof, non chil filtered, and the oloroso sherry finish that I like...seems to be a pattern with me.

The lagavulin distilleries edition is much better than the Laphroaig 10 and more pricy. It is less than the lag 16 at the same store and from what I recal just as good. I'll do a side by side soon. The lap10 just was not tha great first go around. I'll give it a few more tries because that may change. But I had the lag right after and was like yep this is the ticket for these 2 islays.

Yeh...the lag. Distillers and A'Bundah are the winners in that group...no doubt.

Glenn15 is good, just not on that level.

agreed. The lag is really good. If lap was my first islays I might have shied away from trying it again. The lag 16 was my first and it's so good compared to the lag 10. I'm interested to see how the port wood I have on the way compares.

On behalf of scotch lovers everywhere, we would like to congratulate NOLAGT on his successful completion of the undergrad course at Scotch College.

Now that you are officially a scotch guy, we understand that beating a nasty bourbon habit can be difficult, but it can be done. The first step is admitting you have a problem. Repeat after me... "Hi, my name is NOLAGT and I have a problem". Then contact BSoBR (get it... Bourbon sober...) at BSoBR@bsobr.com and agree to sell him all of your nasty disgusting bourbon at 1/2 price. I am sorry to tell you but this is really the only way. I am sure the BSoBR guys would agree.

Master level courses will begin in the spring and will include courses like "Johnnie Walker Blue... Is it worth the money" and "What is the best 18yo".

Again, congratulations on this achievement.

Nope. I'm not a huge scotch fan but I'd say it isn't even the best in its own lineup. JW Double Black.

When I was first wondering through bourbon I tried a JW blue...and it steered me AWAY from scotch for many years until I tried a Glen 12 and thought...hmm maybe not so bad after all.

Highland Park 18 was the one for me. It's the only scotch that has a permanent spot on my bar.

The scotchs haven't made it into my cabinets yet...I stick them in the wine cubbies that line the bottom of the cabinets lol. Mostly becasue I have no room and need to re organize and re enforce the shelves. Only thing I don't like is the scotch is on the side and the cork is always soaking...but short term I dont think its a issue.

It's definitely an issue. Give me all your bourbon so you have room.

It is a huge issue.... Gigantic... Scotch spoils in 45 minutes when laid on its side. You are obviously not ready to own and store scotch properly so you should split your scotch between Tiger Attorney and SMS.
