New Bourbon Drinker here. I drink everything neat at this point. It’s amazing the different flavors and variations. In 6 months I’ve tried, A.H. Hirsch, Henry McKenna 10 year, Sam Houston 15 year, pretty much any Weller except Full Proof, Blanton’s, E.H. Taylor, Whistle Pig 12, Boss Hog, Calumet 14 year, Dettling, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, Caribou Crossing, Old Elk Wheated, 4 Roses Small Batch, Jefferson’s Ocean (aged at sea) and Chesapeake Bay.
Is there anything missing that’s a “MUST TRY”?
I will admit that I’ve gone full bore since getting into Bourbons a few months back but I am hooked and love hunting Bourbon. Full disclosure, I don’t collect. I buy to drink and share.

My favorites so far:
1. A.H. Hirsch (IT’S NOT CLOSE - I pray every Bourbon drinker gets to taste this at least once before it’s all gone)
2. Blanton’s
3. Sam Houston - 15 year
4. Russell’s Reserve 10 year
5. . Daily Drinker - Buffalo Trace or Chesapeake Bay

Disappointing based on Hype - Jefferson’s Ocean, Boss Hog, Whistle Pig 12 year, Eagle Rare and pretty much any Rye bourbon. I’m not big on the spice that Rye Whiskeys give. I have a pallet that is more acceptable to smooth, wheated type Bourbons.

Welcome Donnie

Which Hirsch? Was it the 16-year? If so, yes it’s excellent

Feel free to drop in with pics of pours…we’re a pretty good group with a decent hobby haha

You’re basically on the opposite end of the spectrum from me, but that’s what’s interesting about this “thing”, we all have different palates and enjoy different things.

I would suggest looking for 1792 Sweet Wheat, you would probably enjoy that.

I’ll keep thinking about other suggestions

ETA: Maybe Calumet 15, it’s very similar to Sam Houston 15

Give the different Makers Mark variations a try, 46, limited editions, picks, etc…
