No pour yet. Waiting for after the sushi. Took an inventory of what I have so far. The high west is an infinity bottle.

So I’m not a bourbon afficionado, I just like what I like. But my only experiences with rye whisky is the. Bulletin and the whistlepig, both of which I don’t like, one of which was left at my house a long time ago. What is a good rye whisky? I may not like rye at all, but I won’t know until I have One that most consider great, but I still don’t like it.

I would put the old forester rye in a nice beginners category, mid tier available rye might be a Willett 4 year small batch. Available high end some of the whistle pig store picks, michters.
I tend to gravitate toward rye in the fall/winter but lower proof can be nice anytime.
Eta: Sazeracs made with rye might ease you into drinking it neat.

My tolerance with bourbon got shot completely during lent. Gave it up for lent and now it seems anymore than 2 glasses and I’m drunk. I do tend to drink beer before bourbon, though.

Whistle Pig Rye is right up there.
I would not discount Wild Turkey 101 rye
In addition,Knob Creek puts out an excellent rye.,

So I just had eagle rare, EH Taylor small batch, and woodford reserve double oaked. That EH Taylor is the best by far. Maybe it’s the slightly higher ABV. It’s great.
