First post in the WBS thread. Why did the old thread get anchored? I am almost halfway through reading over the entire thread.

The thread was so large it caused issues with the server. The thread is still there and there is a link in the OP of this thread

1/2FPD:Evan Williams 23.

My word is all I can say. I would have paid the 290.00 in a heartbeat if I wasn't in fear of castration by my wife when I get home.

Newbie here. What's everyone's preferred way to drink bourbon? Straight, Rocks, Old Fash, Manhattan?

I like to start with a good old fashioned or two and then go from there. It really depends on the bourbon, but if it is good enough, I want it on neat or with a big cube of ice

And when I say old fashioned, I mean bourbon, ice, simple syrup, bitters, and an orange rubbed around the rim. No soda water, no muddeling for me...

I've been drinking Old Fashioned's for years ( Cliff @ Don's Downtown in Lafayette), but never had the nads to drink neat. Where should I start besides JB and JD?

I wouldn't start there. You looking for a bottle or a pour at a bar? If a pour, we gotta know what the place has instock.

I think eagle rare, Elijah Craig, and knob creek small batch are three really good/easily available ones to start off

I would recommend these 3 different bourbons to start with to help you identify which type of mashbill recipe you prefer.

1)Buffalo trace - low rye
2)Bulleit bourbon - high rye
3)Maker's mark - wheater

Each of these will have a unique flavor profile based on their recipe and will be a great stepping stone to figure out what you like and what you don't. From there you can naturally gravitate towards other similar bourbons.

I have baseball games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night next week. Not going to be able to make it unless we get a rain out.

23 yo PVW spotting n the wild (kind of)...

Flipping channels and come upon a show called "Silicon Valley" on HBO. Four guys sitting around a table taking a SHOT of PVW23.

One of the guys spits it out because it's nasty (or burns)
