Yes that's why it tastes different. Fatty acids from unfiltered whiskey are more pure in flavor. The BTAC is unfiltered but the fact that it isn't watered down helps with haze and particulates. If ER is unfiltered and the proof is cut, you will see globs and what looks like dust on the bottom once settled. Shake it up and it goes into solution. I have one bottle with black flakes. More than likely sut from the barrel. Maybe they forgot to chill filter. Either way it makes for a really tasty unique bottle of whiskey.

I'm noticing when I drink the Alexanders ER10 it numbs the tongue and inner lip when I let it rest much like a higher proof bourbon. Maybe I'm crazy. Who knows.

I suggested the same thing but was told it was chill filtered. Alexander's supposedly sent back a sample for "testing" and BT said it was as it should be, 10yr chill filtered 90 proof ER
