This came highly recommended but the only reservations left were 10 pm and that is not going to work on this trip.

Go anyway and sit at the bar.

Get the shrimp cocktail. It’s a bucket list thing. Be late for your meetings. They’ll understand.

There was a really nice restaurant I ate at on Meridian Ave but I can’t recall the name. It was fantastic but very haute cuisine type thing

Was it the Meridian Restaurant? That is north, around 57th. If not, there are a lot of places downtown. There's not a lot of restaurants on Meridian north of 30th. Mostly it's residential. Palatial estates, but residential nonetheless.

Meridian Restaurant is in an old house, with a nice outdoor area. Very nice.

Not many people know this, but Indy, specifically Carmel, has a great pizza scene. Absolutely blows Louisiana pizza out of the water. Give it a try. My favorite was always Some Guy's Pizza, although I haven't lived there in 18 years.

There is a big Ruth's Chris on the Northside of town and on downtown as well.

That one is up on 86th, near Keystone in the Ironworks Hotel - which is a pretty cool place.

If you are in Indianapolis to party, then spend time downtown or near the speedway. If you want to avoid the crowds, then go to Broad Ripple or Fountain Square for some locally owned establishments. Carmel as well. Carmel will be very busy during that time - everything will be busier than normal, but Broad Ripple and Fountain Square are a little less touristy.

Yea that was it! Really enjoyed dinner there. I used to stay out in Carmel and drive downtown for work when I was up there. Loved the drive down Meridian on the evening commute home.

I used to live about 5 blocks from there. I was near 54th, on the second street over from Meridian. Meridian at 57th and Meridian.
