I live in the north, so for me it was crawfish. None of my friends had ever eaten it before.

Same here but we eat the hell of be-ga-nos and that's a snail as well. We were boiling seafood at my cousin's house all liquored up, kids caught some Apple Snails in the ditch and wanted us to boil them, we obliged and they were not bad at all. They are illegal to transport alive though.

Cooking myself and what I've eaten that somebody else cooked are two different things.

I've eaten dog on a stick in Okanawa. And it was pretty damn good, after a night of drinkin. I've also had dog served like a warm chicken salad in Mexico.. But I'm not cookin it.
