Reminds me of a thread on the old Cooks Illustrated board where a guy from up north asked what was the difference, other than maybe thickness, between etouffee and gumbo.

The ingredients can be pretty similar. No matter what people wrote in a effort to distinguish them, he still could not appreciate a difference. It got pretty spirited for some reason. Nerd fight.

Asking what the difference is for two items is not the same as not knowing that there is a difference.

Some of you can’t seem to grasp that.

One obvious difference that no one has yet mentioned is that one is a 5 letter word, the other a 3.
