OUCH, hope it didn't break a tooth. I've found some over the years when shucking oysters that size and bigger and they are almost always like that one, more teardrop than round in shape.

I have a pretty big one I found in a raw oyster at busters in Covington, I glued to to a shell I had after I polished it.
and yes it broke a tooth

I found one a little larger than that one in an oyster at Louisiana Langiappe the day before mothers day. It had a small black speck exposed where the sand did not get completely encapsulated by the pearl. The waitress snatched it up when I brought it to her attention and brought it back to the kitchen. I never saw it again. She did say that the kitchen staff said finding one is good luck.
The good luck was that I didn't break a tooth!
