It is just a meatball- ground pork, beef, veal, or some combination thereof. What makes it meatball is the sauce which is sort of a mushroom and stock based sauce.

So nothing crazy. Thanks.

ETA: A jap on top of a deviled egg? That is not a bad idea

And bacon underneath it. It is a great idea both in theory and in practice.

I learned how to make a mean deviled egg from my grandmother. I will try what I see in your sig next time. Looks and sounds good.

Yep. Every food culture has a meatball staple. The Swedish one is very good though.

My German grandmother loved her some Swedish meatballs. When she got older, she bought tons of the lean cuisine version. Her freezer had a shelf full of them when she died.

I always wondered myself. I've tried to cook Swedish meatballs and each time failed miserably. Each year Mrs. Rhode Island Red and I are invited to a Christmas party. The hostess is Norwegian and always has meatballs on the table. Norwegian meatballs could gag a maggot.

I can vouch for this. When I was at Disney, I worked out of Epcot and showed my new trainees around to the restaurants that they'll be asked about.

I showed them the buffet in Norway and I noticed they had meatballs on it. It's looks like a meatball but it's not a meatball.
