No. Everyone agrees the restaurants are better at these dishes.

The things that piss me off, and I mean, I should be able to do better, yet can't:

Fried eggs
Burgers
Steaks(possibly the raw material being the issue)

OTOH, I tend to not like my own cooking as much as others claim to like it. Probably the smelling it the whole time factor.

Burgers a well. I'm sure all people saying this are grinding their own meat, using freshly made same day buns and using commercial equipment to cook on. I love to cook and think I'm pretty good at it. This thread has me laughing pretty hard this morning.

And I'm sure he can cook salmon better than you.
I should have qualified my salmon abilty the same way I did with my steak ability.

My salmon is better (or at least just as good) than anything you will get at TGI Friday's, Outback, Applebee's, etc.

I know, I know, no one on the FDB ever eats at those places.

I admire Cajunate for not posting the truth.

That everything he makes is better than what you could get at a restaurant.

At least it looks better and we first eat with our eyes.

I bet it tastes better too.

So I posted it for him.

I don't know about "ever" for me, but in general, I am with you. I don't like the ones I make all that much.

I'd rather eat a homemade burger any day. I typically avoid burgers from restaurants, because they are pretty bland.

My own burgers have that smokiness from the grill. And sometimes i dice up onions, garlic, cheese and mix it in with the ground beef.

Outback's Salmon is outstanding, but then again, you'd never know.

Sounds like you're just eating a shitty restaurants because I've had some damn good burgers at restaurants and burger joints in my life.

I prefer a flat-top burger rather than a grilled burger. Burgers are better when cooked in their own fat, IMO. I don't care about the that you lose the smoky flavor.

this is one of the reasons I say I never enjoy burgers made at people's houses

Yep, never had it.

I used to like Outback in college. They had a solid deal when the Outback Special was $11.99 and the sirloin they served you was actually a pretty decent size and a good cut of meat. They also have this shrimp pasta dish I used to get that was good. Again, it's been about a decade since I've been.

Never understood the appeal of their Blooming Onion though. fricking disgusting shite.

I just can't eat sirloin. Every time someone talks me into it saying, "But, but, it's really good here" I regret it. That part of the cow should never be cut into steaks. JMO, YMMV...

In most cases boiled seafood isn't better at restaurants.
