Nobody else has started this thread so here goes. My vegan daughter was out of town on business so I figured my SIL and I would go get bbq or look for the perfect burger, but noooo, she has him whipped. He fixed vegan split pea soup - I ate a small bowl then took off for the New Belgium Brewery liquid center and had a couple of 1554 dark lagers - then back home for Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese biscuit followed by slice of key lime pie and Community Cafe Special coffee.

St roch Restaurant in Mandeville this evening for the first time. Every single item we had was exceptional.

Appetizer of the boudin bites:

Cheesy Corn Grits were highly recommended and much appreciated

Ferdi poboy was sampled by three of us and it did not disappoint:

This place has the original Bear's recipes for poboys.

I saw a gentleman beside me eating boiled seafood and ordered one link of boiled sausage to try. It was divine.

4lsu2jr had the kids fish plate. It was full of food and enough for one adult. Great tartar sauce. This pic was after he had eaten his fish.

Another member of our party had the LA trio that consisted of etouffee, RBnR, and a cup of gumbo. The serving plate for the three bowls included three catfish filets. Nicely done on all accounts.

Six beers for the three adults, one glass of merlot, and the aforementioned food. Out the door with a $76 bill plus tip. We will certainly be back to this gem soon.

It was a crazy dinner. We were juggling six month old 4lsu2cubed and I realized after the food arrived that I wanted pics to post here. I can't believe this place has been opened since September and I heard about it two weeks ago.
