I have never heard of beef shin, but not only does the beef look fantastic, the rustic way it is all laid out adds to the appeal. The potato salad looks great!

Ahhhhh peace and quiet.

Roast and gravy, mac n cheese, steamed broccoli with cheese sauce, peas and carrots, green salad, garlic bread and for dessert cherry cobbler.

It seems like forever because I talked about it forever before it finally got started.

Demolition day was March 2. A wall was taken down (as well as a huge honkin' fireplace) and the kitchen and den were taken down to the studs. And a half bath was gutted. Laundry room got to keep its drywall and ceiling.

Things got held up for a little over two weeks after the counter top installation. Part of it was unsatisfactory and they had to find a matching slab (luckily, the next slab in the numbered lot was available) and rip out and reinstall about a third of it. That was completed a couple of days ago.

I'm thinking this coming week things should be nearing completion, but I'll say two weeks. Fingers crossed.
