Went back to Beausoleil Coastal last night and had a really good meal

Wife and I went for the New Year's Eve tasting menu and were really impressed, so we decided on a whim to go last night for dinner.
Lesson learned, make reservations. I thought 6:30 PM on a Wednesday wouldn't be a big deal, but they were booked up. Luckily there was seating at the raw bar so that worked for us. We ended up having a great time talking with the waitress, bar tender, and young man slinging out some awesome seafood creations.
We shared the seared scallops and they were delicious. They came with a curry carrot sauce that was really great.
Wife ordered the lobster truffle explosion. Lobster and truffle ravioli...she was happy. I ordered the 5 spice duck with foie gras risotto. Honestly this dish was fantastic and the vinegary greens were a great balance to the rich risotto. The portions on both were very large.
We ended the meal sharing coconut rice pudding over an almond cake. A light and fun end to the meal.
This place continues to impress me with their creativity and execution. And all the staff we spoke with were genuinely excited to talk about the current menu and what was coming soon.

I went back again as well, for lunch last Saturday. We had the fried artichoke and eggplant appetizer, and also the Brussels sprouts. I’m kinda over the sprouts fad, but these were killer.

Chicken and “dumplings” (gnocchi)
All was fantastic. I have reservations again for next Saturday and they should be serving their full brunch menu by then, in addition to the regular menu.

The hardest part last night was deciding what to order. Honestly the entire menu appeals to me.

Went in a group of four. We did multiple rounds where we each ordered something and just passed the plates. There were no misses. Everything was good to great.

Another great meal.
Zoom in on this one or else they look the same from far away. Truffle oysters, Brussels sprouts, tuna tataki, and deviled lobster boudin.
Lobster bisque. This was a bit too salty
French onion soup. This was so flavorful and rich. Loved it.
Beef carpaccio. This wasn’t our favorite. Was cut very thick

to the chick around my age and I guess her mom and aunt who rolled their eyes continuously and then mocked us for daring have fun. I don’t see the point in getting in your car and driving to Beausoleil to eat eggs and bacon and tip 10%, but hey I guess it takes all types.

Nothing serious. Just three older women seated next to us kept rolling their eyes and mocking us because I put Valentine stuff on the table. Fortunately they fished up before we even got our food, so not a big deal. Weird thing to be upset enough to openly mock strangers over, though. My overly sensitive arse had my feelings hurt when I saw it, but my friends didn't care and told me I shouldn't either. I am a wuss.

From my visits so far, I think my favorites are the crab claws (the uni butter is amazing), the frito misto, and the French onion soup.
I still have yet to order an actual entree from the big plates list.

Took myself to a little solo lunch today and had the lobster roll. That sucker is very good.
