That's disappointing. I think his show does a great job about walking people through the process how to cook regular meals with more thought put into the steps. Nothing crazy about the products, techniques, or cooking devices used.

I'm cooler than lukewarm about the concept, and I thought the article was a hack job. Has the reporter not listened to any rap lyrics in the past three decades?

Picking a white guy wanna be rapper persona to be the brand of the first post-Besh BRG venture is pretty much the definition of cheap provocation. It's like they're saying, well, we will never win back the social justice warriors, so let's go after the DGAF poseurs who like to think of themselves as edgy.

Frankly, all of that hype makes me tired. I'm so old I actually still own 90s rap mixtapes on cassette and remember when twerking was called "poppin".

But fast forward 25 years, and I care more about the food quality/sourcing/execution/comfort level/NOISE level of a restaurant than I do about its perceived or intentional edginess.

Wife and I went last night and ordered a number of things to share; it was all pretty good IMO and at a very fair price. We each had 2 drinks and split 4 plates for about $65 before tip; can't remember the last time we went out for that kind of money.

Went for lunch today.

First, they really don't crush you with skateboard/hip hop thing at all. That was refreshing because I assumed Run DMC would be blaring and skateboard videos showing all over TVs.

Had the shrimp rings, the regular burger and a Voodoo to drink. There is no draft beer so cans and bottles only.

The shrimp rings were interesting and the finger lime cocktail sauce nice and spicy. The burger was good as well, but not better than Company Burger.

A co-worker ordered the mahi mahi which looked and smelled great and he enjoyed it. He also had the corndog and said it was good but nothing special.

Price was fair. They said happy hour coming soon.

All in all it was good and will be a solid option for a sit down lunch. I'm not sure I'd pick it as my dinner spot though.

Went last Friday. Was told it was their first night open to the public. Here is the review i wrote for my friends:

Service was off but gotta give them a pass since it was their first night open. There were some really good dishes and some mediocre ones. Music was mostly 90s rap so i was good with that. They took the oxtail tater tots off the menu which was the main reason i wanted to go.

Cocktails 8/10
Ambiance 8/10

Small Plates:
Shrimp Rings - 6/10, gimmick dish, give me plain fried shrimp instead.
Corn Dog - 5/10, the ones from Sonic were better. If it aint broke dont fix it.
Broccoli and Cauli Cesar Salad - 9/10. Points only deducted for portion size.
Pork Belly Lettuce wraps - 8.5/10, Points deducted for portion size.
Mac n Cheese - 7/10

Mahi Mahi with Oxtail sauce - 8/10. Fish was fresh and perfectly cooked but the capers in the sauce made the dish a lil salty
Tortellini with Goat - 8.5/10. Seems like this coulda been on the menu at August

Dessert:
Ice Cream Sandwich - 9/10. Not sure what flavors were there but it was awesome. Wasnt standard chocolate and vanilla

Tab came out to about $60 per head after tax and tip. Not bad considering about 2.5 drinks per person. Overall a pleasurable experience, 8/10. Will def return for drinks and apps. Place will be great for Happy Hour. Hope they bring the oxtail tater tots back.

I gave Warbucks a try today.

Went around shift change.

Ordered Shrimp rings, one of each burger. She had That and I had This(Foie). I liked the rings, and the burgers were both delicious. A top burger, not sure if the best I still prefer Company, LPG and the Brunch burger at Brown Butter.

But really good.

To drink we ordered two Wu-Tang named cocktails. The Ol Dirty Daiquiri and the Liquid Sword. I would have enjoyed the drinks more but they came after the burgers. The server blamed it on the bartenders being busy, but I saw them talking the whole time. No bother, It was around shift change. Plus it limited me to one drink when I wanted two. Which was a good thing because all the free Mimosas and Poinsettas I drank going up and down Magazine were kicking in.
I liked it and would likely return.
Lunch for two with app and cocktails is about $70.
