Going to Walk-On's soft opening on Friday night. What should I expect? Am I going to have to wait a hour for my food? Also, the food is free, but do I leave a tip? Never been to one of these before.

You should expect poor service as usual. And yes leave a tip.

I'll be there too with the wife and kids. I think we are going around 6pm. Not sure what to expect. I do enjoy a good train wreck though so fingers crossed.

Expect mediocre food and a terrible beer selection

I've only been to one. It was the Chilis on Siegen. Couldn't order ribs or alcohol. It was free so we left a nice tip.

I enjoy the food. It’s fricking bar food. If you foodies want to take pictures for your Instagram account go somewhere else. I feel there beer selection has gone downhill over the years as they’ve expanded. The selection is decent but not as good as it was.

Ate at a Walkons a few weeks ago. Didn't think it was bad.

Had the club sandwich and it was pretty good.

Had a Jucifer on tap.

I don't mind Walk-On's food either.

Walk-On's kinda blew me away back in December. I was given tickets to sit in the owners' suite for the Independence Bowl and was pretty impressed with their excitement and pride in their company. Everyone was taking pictures of the logo on the field, checking their "trending" level on social media, getting excited for the WalkOns commercial, etc. It was funny at first, but really it just showed how humble and excited they were for their success.

If I didn't have a job I love, I'd apply for a marketing position for Walk-Ons in a heartbeat. Probably one of the nicest groups of people I've ever met.

Leave your wallet at home. No need to tip. Be difficult on the waitresses to prepare them for opening day.

Where did I post that I was contemplating not going? I simply said I didn't know what to expect since I've never been to a restaurant soft opening.

Are you being a dick just to be a dick? Hope your day turns around.

Come back and give the waitresses an OT rating. Because we all know the only two reasons to go there are the girls and the cheese fries.

Metry location is not that bad. Only thing I did not like there was the gumbo.
