Using Natural Gas for Seafood Boil

Have always used Propane for boiling, but I have a natural gas line available now for use. Anyone boil with natural gas, and if so, what types of modifications and/or additional hoses/regulators required?

There are some natural gas boilers out there, but they are pretty expensive. Natural does not crank out as much heat per CF as LP.
One natural gas burner maker is in south Louisiana. I sent the guy an email and was willing to pay whatever, but never got a reply.
I have two natural gas outlets in my backyard, but I gave up and just use a cheapo LP burner for boils.

I started using NG to boil about a year ago. I love it for all the obvious reasons. The ease of use, not having to hassle with tanks and it is not nearly as loud as a propane set up. Also, I did not notice a drop in performance.

If you can fill your pot with hot water it will help. Otherwise just add another beer to your cooking time.

Yes. It can be done. Volume is your friend here. I have a ball valve with a quick disconnect. The gas line the quick disconnect is connected to is 1"
The quick disconnect is a true 3/4" inside diameter. The hose I use is a 3/4" Fill-Rite brand diesel/gas transfer hose. It has a ground wire going through it for static discharge (probably not necessary) but I bought it because it had NPT fittings on both ends of the hose, it was heavy duty, 20ft long and built tough. Cheap too. Another 3/4" ball valve leads to a galvanized 12" long 3/4" pipe connected to an eBay 32 jet wok burner. It heats up quickly and throws a huge blue flame. I boil faster than propane and at a cheaper cost. It's quieter too
I used a turkey frier frame. Welded a new base in to bolt the burner to.

Holy balls... For a burner?

Here's Mine
I need to modify it more. I'm losing to much heat off the sides, or maybe it isn't high enough. I would need to get a piece of thin pipe the goes around my pot to keep the heat in.

A simple cheap fix is put a steel 55 gallon drum around it and cut it to the height you need.

My pot has a bigger OD than a 55 gallon drum..... I checked.

I thought you were looking to block wind and heat loss around the sides of the burner. I didn't realize you wanted it tightly around the pot
