Where did you get this fake news from?

For starters, the mom hasnt run that place in several years. Secondly, I went there a couple weeks ago for a few beers. (Edit: a couple months ago)

I never understand where people get their “facts” from....

yeah it’s the old owners daughter. Natasha. She turned the place into a good neighborhood bar.

If this was the place down millerville, yeah it was a great place. It’s been 4-5 years since I went there, but I think this was the name IIRC.

Their whole family are just really nice people. Her dad (the old owner) also owned that Tiger something convenience store on Lee that’s now Brothers. He may even still own the building.

I think that’s one of many things he owned around town.

The son was running for state rep or something like that during the last election.

The other daughter (my friend) was on the news recently for how she had a job doing basic admin work at Gordon law firm and decided randomly to go to law school and just recently passed the bar.

Yeah the Dad is the nicest guy in the world. He is the guy missing an arm if anyone ever sees him there. He is someone you can go and talk to even if youve never met him and he’ll talk to you like he’s always known you. Natasha and her sister are also great people. Never met the brother.

Turning out 3 genuinely nice kids who are successful like that says a lot about someone.

To stay on topic - I agree Smiling Dog is underrated. People on my side of town never venture to that side of town to drink, which is probably why I never hear anyone talk about it. It’s a pretty nice place though.

I can’t agree with Patio. Being a dive doesn’t make something underrated IMO. It’s adequately rated to me, which is: loved by the regulars, unknown by everyone else. It’s not a bar I’d define as some great time people are missing out on, but rather something that is a good time for its patrons because it’s their bar.

I get it - Port Royal was that for me when I went. But I definitely wouldn’t be telling random people they’re missing out by not going to Port.

renovations doesn’t equal the place being closed down because of an owner from 4+ years ago. Dont call me a douche bag because you said something false and got called out on it.
