Trying Meril tonight for first time

My buddy tried some banana peanut butter pie they have there, said it's the best dessert he ever had

I liked it. Banana peanut pie was the bottom of the list. Citrus crepes were very good. A nice port as well.

House meatball, crispy turkey necks, boudin tamale, buttermilk biscuit all very good.

Potato chips ok. I'll try a few others on that list next time- catfish tacos looked good and shaved iberico ham.

Burrata salad, roasted oysters, pineapple upside down corn bread, vegetable flatbread very good.

Cornbread is a winner

Skipped the pasta course, went to jerk chicken thighs, hanger steak, candies pork ribs and smoked pork belly, Korean short ribs.

Pork ribs, hanger streak and pork belly very much do again.

Vegetables were snap peas, Mexican corn, roasted cauliflower (ala Domenica with roasted red pepper sauce). All good but Domenica cauliflower better just in preparation alone. Loved the red pepper sauce though. Mexican corn I could eat a bushel of. Messy but they encourage eating with your hands which I'm capable of doing unapologetically.

Cheese board is probably the deal of the year. 3 cheeses $11 5 for $17.

Dancing fern, nice soft Charllerhocker, Sapoirre.

3 pieces of cheese with honey roasted almonds, chuncked chocolate, almond butter, 2 chutneys and a lot of sliced toasted baguette. For 11 bucks. If I lived in the area I would sit at the bar, good glass of wine and this.

Chocolate peanut butter banana pie - pretty much banana cream pie. Good but just good.

French press coffee and port

Loud and open which I like and at 10:00pm packed. Service is what to expect at an Emeril restaurant just like an oiled machine. The kitchen was pumping out the food and the servers know how to get it where it needs to be.

Looked to be reasonable prices, had 2 nice bottles of Boudreaux and friend picked up the tab so I can't comment that way. I enjoyed it and can go back and try the rest.
