Driving a couple sacks up to Illinois today to boil for Friday. Any packing tips? Was just planning on putting ice on bottom of ice chest, throwing the sacks in and maybe a moist towel over the top. Will leave lid cracked open.

Simply keep them cool with a little ice and give them air. A wet towel may suffocate them.

No ice on bottom, moist towel on top. Maybe a ziplock back of ice if you’re worried about temperature.

Buckle their little seatbelts too. The company I worked for brought crawfish to a customer in Ohio, had a big boil for all the employees. They ate the sausage and potatoes. the corn and crawfish were 'too spicy'. The spice level was about a 2/10.

The owner of the company was from Louisiana, he loved them, the rest of them, not so much. WE cooked 3 sacks, one would have been plenty.

Put whole sack in ice chest with towel on top. Bagged ice on top of towel to keep cool. Keep lid cracked or they will suffocate. Keep water from pooling in bottom of cooler or they will drown.

I have also used a 1 gallon garden sprayer with water but probably not necessary.

if traveling via truck, place ice chest in truck bed, tilt on a slight angle, and leave drain plug open. Definitely use a towel and ice bags to keep crawfish from drying out
