Have any of you had this? Just had it at my Liverpool bar in Cbus. Guy brought a bottle in, illegally (?), from Belgium. Saw this on TV once and never thought I'd have it. Really good.

I don't know. Guy came in and gave it to the bartender. It was all hush hush but I spend a lot here on Bourbon so they gave me a snifter of it. Said it was from Belgium. I know there are a lot of different monasteries that brew it. Belgium, Netherlands, Austria etc.

You probably had a Westvleteren 12. It's normally only available at the monastery in Belgium and they frown upon resale otherwise. There are however several European resellers where you can buy it.

The last time I was in Belgium I picked up a case of the 12.

Our bar wasn't selling it. It's an Irish bar with every Whisky/Bourbon you can think of. A local patron brought it in and gave it to the owner. The bartender I tip, heavily, let us have a taste. They only had one bottle and it want for sell

Westvleteren 12.

Wife brought me some back from her trip to Belgium a couple of years back. That was an expensive beer run.

They sell for 10 Euro a bottle in Belgium so one bottle is like 12 bucks, they sell for 20-25 bucks one bottle here

Westvleteren

The best beer I’ve ever had in my entire life. Picked it up from the monks who brew it in Belgium.

It is good but I feel I've had better. The best I have rated was a few aged sours right now
