He's sending me (6) PTE and a few others. What can I send from Baton Rouge?

Nothing in BR will be as good, but I'd send some Parish Farmhouse, Dr. Hoptagon, Tin Roof Rougarou, and some NOLA Mechhopzilla, or Hopitoulas.

A LOT...6 Pliny=$30 so you could send him some Timber Beast or some of the Parish offerings. He definitly has some leverage on the trade regarding ounces received vs. ounces shipped I would guess.

That's about it local. Unless you tell him to wait and you use 2 or 3 of those PTE's in beer trades with others. Then once you have a decent collection of random stuff you send him the package

All of your suggestions are solid IMO except for these two. I'm not sure how they taste on draft, but the cans I have had were underwhelming to say the least. Hopitoulas would be a good option for sure though.

I'll add St Arnolds Pumpkinator to the list.. you may also still be able to find a bottle or two of St Arnolds Bishops Barrel 4.

I agree it's not all that great, although I don't think it's undrinkable or anything, but it's something local that he couldn't get otherwise. It's hard to compare and LA beers to Pliny

Perhaps it was the cans I had but I seriously didn't finish one of the Mechs that I had.

How much is a 6-pack of Timber Beast? 2 Pliny=$10...if a 6-pack of Timber Beast is about $10 I would trade those 64oz for 34oz of PTE and be happy.

It's probably about 10 bucks a four pack.... It would be a good one to include.

I think there was something off in their first run of cans ... I picked up a nasty metallic off flavor and couldn't get past it. I tetu'd the entire four pack.

Tried another can about a week ago and it wasn't bad. IMO Mecha is still much better when on draft, but they seemed to have corrected whatever that particular issue was.

These are solid suggestions.

Timber Beast and some Dr. Hoptagon for sure. Can probably also find a Parish Farmhouse IPA just to include something else local and different.

That's good to know. And yeah, the can I had did have a bit of a metallic taste mixed with a maltyness. THe wife was shocked when I poured it out.

Cans of Hopitoulas also... cans are lighter and less fragile than bottles anyway.

True! Which reminds me. Does Abita make their cans out of some paper mache/tin recipe?

Never pour ice on top of an Abita Can. I lost 3 out of a 12 pk last home game.

If you can wait a little while for cans of ICS to come out, that should go too

Keep the shipping box, send him an envelope with a check and an apology note. You are more likely to keep the friendship this way...
